It's Looking Like Christmas!

This time of the year is so busy for everyone between decorating, baking, shopping and for those of us that make gifts and cards.  As usual I'm behind!  I thought I was done making gifts but ran into problems when putting them all together, so it will take me a few more days to get them done.  Haven't started on my cards either and hoping I'll be able to get them done, but if not I have a box of back up cards.  lol

Did get some decorating done and decided on my silly wood tree again.  I thought it was cute last year and with the puppy decided to decorate it again.

Here is our Christmas tree -

My hubby has been busy too with his Santa's Village and it turned out cute this year.  Here are a couple photos, looks like John Wayne is looking over the village  -

And here is a little cutie decorating his own tree back in Michigan -

And not so Christmas related, this is Jake's latest, got himself stuck and needed rescuing.  Guess he climbed up the wood pile and onto the table, but too scared to jump down.  Needless to say I moved the table.

Well wish me luck on getting everything done before Christmas and be back soon!!

Work - Work - Work!

It's that time of the year, always so much to do and so little time.  Trying to finish up Christmas gifts and cards and time just flies by!  It always gets done, but always seems to be that I'm under pressure.  I'm not one of those fast crafters, I'm a slow poke because I'm a perfectionist (I'm my own worst critic).  I'm too old to change so I just give myself extra time to get things done.

There's been a lot going on these last few weeks.  First of all we got a new puppy (told myself I didn't need another dog), his name is Jake.  So far he seems to be a good puppy, only one accident in the house and that's a big plus.  He does keep Millie on her toes and they get along so good and I was afraid she wouldn't like him at all.

This is Jake.  He's a black lab/border collie mix.  My hubby has been splitting wood and he just loves rolling around in the sawdust and it's everywhere!

Onto my craftroom and new cabinet, I just love it!!!  A few of the drawers stick, but I'm sure they'll work themselves out.  I don't have a lot in it yet and not sure it's in the right spot yet, but as always with me, it's a work in progress.  Still going through all my 'stuff' and decided to open a Facebook page to sell things.  Also going to put it on the local garage sale site and see what happens.

The cabinet didn't photograph well, that side of my room is dark and I couldn't seem to take a photo without my shadow in it.  I did do my best, but had to use odd angels!  lol

There are 2 different size drawers, 24 total and the drop down door that I'm using for paper storage right now, but that may change to.

Seems a bit crowed and not sure what to move or actually where to put what I do decide to move.   I'm sure I will work it out and it's always fun moving things around (NOT)!!  The wheels work great and it's a good thing, this sucker weighs a ton empty.

Wonderful drawers and drop down door.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and I need to get back to everything I've got going on!!

Dreary Monday!

It's a dreary Monday, but am hoping for rain, the drought is awful!  I am praying that there's more rain coming than they're anticipating today and that there's more down the line.

Hubby and his brother went to a ranch sale on Saturday and bought me a couple surprises.  One is an old chest but I don't have a photo of it yet, not sure where hubby put it.  It needs bit of work, but it's really cool and is going to be beautiful hopefully when we're done with it.

The other item they bought me was an old tool chest that's heavier than a son of a gun.  It also needs some work but mostly cosmetic.  Hubby is cleaning it up and then it will get painted.  I'm probably going to leave it red and black but it looks like it was originally green.  It was probably from one of the Air Force Bases in the area we figure.  I took a couple of pictures this morning but they don't show how cool it is.  I didn't think to take any pictures before we took all the drawers out and put the cabinet on the table to clean it up.  Looks like it was in a barn or shed for years and if full of cobwebs and one hornets nest.  lol

This is the cabinet on top of the workbench.  Went out yesterday and got some wheels for it and I can hear hubby outside working on it!!  lol

Here are some of the drawers ready to be cleaned up and painted.  There are 24 drawers total in 2 different sizes.  Can't wait for it to be done and put it in my scrap room and fill the sucker up!!

Have a great Monday and will continue to take pictures of the progress and keep your fingers crossed for a good rain.

What's Happening These Days!

Time just seems to get away from me lately, so much going on this time of the year.  Kids are going back to school, but I don't have any kids left at home.  I am getting ready for the holidays, my favorite time of the year is just around the corner, FALL!!  Halloween is big at my house, hubby loves to decorate the whole front yard and add new things every year.   I'm getting ready for Christmas already, making gifts and cards.  I'm still working on my Open House, launch of my Close To My Heart business and it's so exciting to think about and will be in about 3 weeks!!

As always, still trying to put my craft room together and always seem to mess it up BIG.  I've come to the conclusion that if I'm not making a huge mess I'm not doing anything.

Got all my goodies together and ready to create!

Even my desk is fairly cleaned off for now and is ready for me to get busy!

If you haven't checked out the new catalog from Close To My Heart just go to my website and thumb through it.  There are tons of new stamps, papers and embellishments!!  This month is National Stamping Month and if you spend $30.00 you get the #30 Years of Happy stamp set for free!!!

So stay tuned for sneak peaks and more details on my Open House and if you're interested in a catalog just let me know.

Tuesday is Here - Time is Flying By

It's Tuesday, the end of August is almost here and I just can't believe how time is just flying by.  I've been on an everything break, trying to get life sorted out and priorities in order.  I am also on a Design Team break for a while too, but I think it may be for a long while, we will see what happens there.  Pinque Peacock is awesome and miss the girls, but feel the need to focus on my own projects for now.

Did go visit the grandsons and had a great time, but again, got sick when we got home.  Have been working on my craft studio and have it pretty much done, but have tons of stuff I want to sell and still wondering the best way to do it (group on FB, Ebay, ect.) and will figure it out in time.  Would rather not have to deal with shipping and will probably just bite the bullet and do it.

My desk and tables are clean enough to create now and just need to pick a project to do.

I am getting stuff ready for my long past due Close To My Heart Open House.  I've already gotten new catalogs, new stamps and lots of goodies!!  Making some samples and getting a make-n-take together and am getting closer to setting a date so stayed tuned for more information!!!  I am over the moon excited!!!  I do have a button on the right, just click away!!!

So that's it for today and am getting back into a regular routine of posting again, so stayed tuned in!!

USA Baby!

It's my turn on the Pinque Peacock blog and so for my post today I've done a layout using a photo of my grandson Graisen.  I've got tons of photos of both boys, just need to make time to do albums for each of them.  I looked around on my table to see what I had out and I had been working on patriotic stuff and so that's what I went with.  I didn't have the time to clean up and didn't want to get more stuff out, so patriot layout it is.  I looked through photos and saw the outfit Graisen was wearing and thought it would be perfect with what I had spread out on the table and in the box of goodies that was out.

I used the small Layered Garden Beauties from Pinque Peacock and the Metal Stars are also from the Pinque Peacock shop.

Here is my USA Baby layout.

This is a close-up of the Layered Garden Beauties, they're really pretty!!

Here is a close-up of the Metal Stars, love them!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my layout!

Pinque Peacock June Challenge!

This is going to be my very first Challenge ever and so I'm nervous and excited at the same time!  lol  So the Challenge is on the Pinque Peacock Challenge Blog and for June it's Anything Goes.  I've been following the challenges for quite a while, but am always too chicken to make something.  The projects that everyone posts are amazing, but wanted to participate this month because it's Anything Goes and that's right up my alley!

So I had bought these mini-canvas' and easels from the Pinque Peacock Facebook Shop and have been wanting to mess around with them and thought this would be the perfect opportunity.  The mini-canvas is 2x3 and it was so fun making this project.  At first I was going to paint something, but then decided to make it more of a mixed-media canvas.

Here is my Mini-Canvas and if you haven't already checked out the Pinque Peacock Challenge Blog you should come and play along!

June Crafty Kit Club - Canvas

I am loving the June Canvas Crafty Kit Club items, had fun playing with the items sent to me.

This is what I got - Lots of cool goodies!

I'm the type of crafter that has to set everything out on the table and look at it for sometimes days for inspiration to hit me.  Well it just wasn't happening, so I just sat down and started playing with the paint and paper and then just started gluing stuff down.  Was pretty happy how it turned out and had a great time doing it!

I decided that the flower was pretty the way it was, so I didn't paint it.  I did however spray it with gold glitter spray but it doesn't really show up in the photo.

Here is the canvas that I came up with.

Thank you for stopping by and check out the Crafty Kit Club!

For the Blog Hop I made a mini-album, my favorite thing to make!  I used a beautiful new Pinque Peacock Beaded Stick-Pin and an awesome new Fabric and Rick-Rack Covered Button.  Love the new items, they're just gorgeous and I'm sure you've seen at all the previous stops on the blog hop (I'm last but not least on the list)!!!

This is going to be our neighborhood 4th of July album.  We used to have a block party when our street didn't go through and it always ended up in a massive water fight!!  My brother-in-law and husband built a water balloon launcher that would shoot balloons from our house to the end of the block, it was awesome!!!  Now they've opened up the street and built homes, so the fun times are over.  People moved away, the kids are grown and gone and so no more block parties.  They were fun times we'll always remember!!

Here is a close-up of the new items, loving the red, white and blue.

This is the complete cover, added a few things from my patriotic box of goodies.  lol

I've done a few of the inside pages, but need to add photos as yet.  When it's complete I'll be posting more photos with more Pinque Peacock yummyness!!

Sunshine Monday

Monday Monday! It's always a pleasure when it's my turn to post on the Pinque Peacock blog.  For today I finished a layout that I had started eons ago.  It's not my best work, but of course haven't had the time to work on much this past month or so.

Here is my You Are My Sunshine layout.  Used an adorable Large Fabric Covered Button, a Layered Garden Beauty and of course a beautiful Stick-Pin.  You can find all of these on the .Pinque Peacock Facebook page.

Here is a close-up of the Pinque Peacock items.  The photo is my son when he was around 4 and he really was and is still my sunshine.

Enjoy your week!

We All Quote Our Mothers

Happy Thursday, hope your week is going great so far and tomorrow is Friday!  Weekends are always fun, long weekends are the best!!

Today is my day on the Pinque Peacock Blog and I always look forward to it.  Wish I could do more fun crafts, but I've been so busy lately with the house (inside and out).  So much to do and so little time in a day.

So my project for today is a card, thought the saying was cute.  I will more than likely save it for my mom's birthday in September.  lol  I used a Large Fabric Covered Button and a beautiful Stick-Pin, check out all the Pinque Peacock items on HERE.

Here is a Close-Up of the Fabric Covered Button and the Stick-Pin, just love the colors!!

Still trying to get my craftroom in order, but still finishing up the painting on the outside of the house and lots of other things that need done, it's that time of the year!!

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Tuesday Tuesday!

It feels more like a Monday than Tuesday.  It's not that it's a bad day, but wondering where the heck the weekend went.  We have been so busy with house stuff and then throw the stomach flu in there and that's been my last few weeks.

We are almost done painting the house and it's so nice.  I did pick the last color and thought it was a pretty color when I picked it, but hated it after it was on the house.  I just love the new color and hopefully it will last a long while, I hate painting!  Still have a little bit of touch up to do but putting it off for a few weeks to get some other stuff done inside the house.  Hubby is also doing some other things outside that need done, so we're both taking a painting break!

Here are a few photos of painting, but still need to take finished photos.

Here's the old and new colors.  I spent a whole day almost covering windows and everything else that needed covered up.  They had trouble with the paint sprayer the first day and this is pretty much as far as they got.

The Brothers working hard!

Aric doing the high stuff, we're too old to be climbing around on the roof!  lol

Hubby also had to go help a friend get rid of a tree from his property and so he brought it home, gotta love firewood!  Millie thinks she's a goat, she loves climbing on the wood before it's split and stacked.  She also likes to climb up on it after it's stacked and has been known to us it to jump over the fence!!  lol
The tomatoes are doing so good too, just waiting for the first one to pop out!

Have a great week and will be posting again in a few days, a crafty post!!

Thinking of You

Happy Friday!  Friday's are always fun and has always been one of my favorite days of the week, more so when I was working of course.

Today I have a Thinking of You card.  It would have been a Mother's Day card, but since my mother was making the same card with me at a card making party, I went ahead and made it a Thinking of You card.

I used a beautiful Pinque Peacock Stick Pin to add a little something more to this card.  The Stick Pins are always perfect to add just that little special something to any project!!

Here is a not so good picture of the stick pin.  This photo doesn't do the stick pin justice at all, it is beautiful!!

Here is the card and the stick pin adds that something special to an already pretty card.

Now it's been a while since I've actually been able to use my craft room for anything, let alone anything creative!  I've been just clearing enough space on the table to get a quick project done.  I've been going through everything and what I don't think I'll use I've been selling.  I even thought about opening a Facebook group to sell my treasures and I still may.

Here are a few photos of my mess.  I can walk a bit now, a few weeks ago I couldn't even walk.

And this is my desk and table.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Close To My Heart - CTMH

I made it official today and giving it a shot, I am now a new consultant with Close to My Heart!  I've been on the fence for a while and decided to jump in and give it a go.  I looked at both CTMH and SU and haven't been that impressed with the new SU catalog and stamp sets.  Not bashing SU, they're awesome and I'm sure I will still buy their stamps, but nothing strikes my fancy at this time.

So if you're interested in having a gathering, becoming a consultant or just want information let me know!  I don't have my kit yet, but I'm sure it won't take long to get here.

Come shop with me at my Close To My Heart website and check out the monthly specials and promotions!!!  Time is running out to on the Cricuit Promotion, join my CTMH  team for just $99.00 and get any Cricuit Cartridge for FREE!  You already get over $400.00 in products and supplies and the Cricuit Cartridge is a great added bonus.  This promotion ends 4/30/14, so act fast!!!!!

Blast From The Past Frame!

I always look forward to my turn on the Pinque Peacock Blog and plan out my project, but it doesn't always work out!  I have several projects always going at once as I'm sure all crafters do, but the last month or so they're not turning out like I envisioned them in my head!

So after my project for today's blog post was a bust, I did another quick project so as not to let our awesome followers down (or you may be let down when you see it)!

So here is my quick and easy frame.  I used a Burlap Fabric Splendid Swirl and a 3/4 inch Fabric Covered Button that ca be found at the Pinque Peacock Shop.

The photo is of my son back in 1979 making his silly face, he was 2.

Hopefully the projects I'm still working on will turn out better than the last few!  I've been trying to be more creative and use different mediums, but I guess it just takes some practice.  I always expect to be good at everything and be able to just jump right in without practice, but it's just not the case!!  So I've been experimenting and seeing what works out best for me and have a big mess everywhere (shocking I know).  If it was all neat and tidy then I wouldn't be trying right?

So I am hoping to be posting a few new projects in the next few weeks if all goes well.

We are about to finish up some outside projects on the house and the biggie is painting.  UGH, I hate painting!!  The guys did build a new garage door and it looks so nice and will look better once it's painted.  But the outside is looking good or better anyways.  I do need to power wash yet, but have to borrow it from my wonderful brother.

So have a great rest of the week!

After hopping, be sure to visit the Pinque Peacock Shop on FB to
order these items (and many others) to use on your very own projects!

For the Spring Time Blog Hop I've created a card using the showcased products for this
month.  I usually only use 1 or 2 of the items but for this card I used everything
I was send.  I am horrible at challenges, draw a blank every time, so I challenged
myself to use all of the items in one project.  I had stuff everywhere!
There was paper spewed all over the place along with embellishments,
tins, chipboard, etc.  Tried to make something unique and fun,
but didn't work out and I was running out of time as always.
I am still my own worst critic and nothing was working for me so I thought card!
Cards are not my thing, but seem to be
 making them a lot lately.

So here is the card that I made.

Here are a few close-ups of the new Pinque Peacock items.  I've added some bling
to the centers, there's no such thing as too much bling!
