Altered Journal

Yippee!! It's my turn again to be the poster on the Pinque Peacock Blog!  I did have to clear off a spot on my desk in order to alter my journal, but I did get it done, but made another mess in the process though.

My craft table and desk as it looks right now, although today I will hopefully get time to tackle my mess!!

This is just a corner of the 6 ft. table

Aftermath on my desk and yes, there's even 'stuff' under the desk!!

My favorite thing to do is alter anything and everything in sight, but journals and mini-albums are my very favorite.  This is a pretty simple altered journal because time wasn't on my side.

I used one of my favorite Fabric Covered Buttons and Angel Stick Pin from Pinque Peacock.  The paper I used was from the Stampin' Up Clementine collection.   The brown ribbon is also Stampin' Up.  Not sure where I got the lace and the bling, pulled it out of my stash!  The papers aren't showing up their true colors, not sure why though.  lol  I love burlap and just love the burlap flower from Canvas Corp.

Here is a close-up of the Fabric Covered Button and Stick Pin.

Here is the altered journal, can't wait to fill it up with ideas!   I did add mini crystal randomly to the centers of  the printed paper on the right, but they're not showing up in the photo.

Retro Card Box!

Happy Hump Day (just love that commercial with the camel)!!  lol

Not sure if my Card Box is actually Retro, but it reminds me of the 70's and I consider that Retro!!  I have a ton of this We R Memory Keepers paper and decided to use some of it up with this project.  This is a Stampin' Up card box and it needed 5 sheets of paper to cover it and figured I may as well use this paper.  I did love it when I bought it, but did I really need 25 sheets of it??

I used the Pinque Peacock Fabric Covered Button and one of the beautiful stick-pins.  Here is a close-up shot and I did add bling to the center of the Fabric Covered Button.

Here is a photo of the completed box and can't wait to fill it up with cards!

Time Just Flies By!

It's been a while since I did a post, so thought I would pop in and say Hello!  I have been basically unplugged for the month of August and never thought that would be possible.  I have been on my IPad on and off, but that's about it.

We did take a 2 week trip to Spokane to visit Sara, Adam and of course Liam!!  It was a great trip and got to spend lots of quality time with Liam (he's 11 months old today).  Also got to see their new home and it's beautiful.  They actually live in Mead, the outskirts of Spokane.  I had never been to area before, so it was fun being a tourist while the kids were working.

So here are a few pictures from out trip and am back on schedule now to post and better yet, to get all crafty!!

Grandpop reading Liam a story -

Grandmom playing with the wiggly Liam,  This is actually me unplugged too (no make-up, hair not done)!!  Look how long may hair is too, 8 months of growth from being shaved.  I do need to get it trimmed or shaped or something now though.  hehehe

Sara and Liam playing on the lawn.  Did I mention that grandbaby #2 is on board?

Liam is our pride and joy and can't wait to meet the new baby the first of January.  They're not finding out again if it's a boy or girl, but we don't care as long as it's healthy!!

We still get daily pictures of him and this is today's picture helping wash the car or should I say playing in Cody's water bowls while daddy washes the car.

From Trash to Treasure!

I'm always excited when it's my turn to post on the Pinque Peacock Blog, but again time goes by so quickly that I'm caught unprepared!  Being the crafter that I am, I always have so many projects going at once that I can run into my craft room and finish one up really fast!  lol

A few months ago I was in the backyard on wasp patron and went around the side of the house where I never go (afraid a critter may get me) and found this old beat up pot half buried in the dirt.  Of course I dug it up to check it out.  Looked like it had been there for years and don't know how I'd never seen it before.  It was rusty and banged up, but I loved it!  Asked hubby if it was his and if I could have it, of course he said yes.  So got out a mallet and tried to pound out some of the dents, got out the steel wool to sand off the rust.  I did think about leaving it like that, but wasn't sure yet.  Next time I went to the hardware store I was checking out cans of paint and found something by Krylon called Silver Hammered Finish and thought it would be perfect.  I wanted it to look beat up, but 'pretty' at the same time.

Here is the pot before I painted it, but didn't think to take a photo before I beat it and sanded it.

So it sat on one of my craft tables after I painted it until I decided what to do with it.  I had read somewhere about using toilet paper rolls to organize stuff and thought I could do that!!  So I started saving toilet paper rolls and putting them in my pot until it had enough.  Then I started adding treasures inside all the toilet paper rolls (paint brushes, foam brushes, etc.)  See it there on the corner of my table?  lol

I love the Pinque Peacock fabric covered buttons (I actually love everything PP) that I had to use one for my pot.  Of course I am a ribbon/lace junkie too, so I used one of my favorite pieces of lace and threaded some pretty red ribbon through it.  For some reason I couldn't make a bow to save my life today, but after like 5 trys I gave up and figured the pretty checked button would cover up the weirdness of it!

So here is my pot all prettied up!!  Tried to get a picture without the glare, but it just wasn't happening!  lol

Here is a close-up of the button (ignore the bow).  hehehe  Isn't the lace beautiful??

Thank you so much for checking out my project and hope you enjoyed it!

Framed Art!

I love it when it's my turn to post on the Pinque Peacock Blog!  I haven't had time lately to do much in my craft room, but I know that when it's my turn to post that I get to play!  hehehe

I made this Angel Wings canvas in June for my last Pinquette post, but wasn't sure what to do with it when I got it done.  A couple years ago my hubby made me 3 different frames using chicken wire and 2 of them were hanging on the wall in the hallway with nothing in them.  Not thrilled with the one that I do have stuff in, so I am going to undo it and now I have an idea on what to do for all 3.

This is the 1 frame that I did this morning and will be working on the other 2 now.  This is one of the end ones, the one in the middle is the biggest.

I put a picture hanger on the back of the canvas and used the fabric splendid swirl and beaded stick pin on the left corner and the layered garden beauty in the right corner.  I do love these frames, gotta love Pinterest!!  lol

I just love these soft rose fabric splendid swirls, I've used them on quite a few projects!  The beaded stick pin is gorgeous too!!

This is an odd angle, but was having issued taking the photos.  The layered garden beauty is so pretty and is also in the soft rose pattern.

Hope you enjoyed today's post and come back often to see the other 2 frames when they're done!  I know me well enough to know that things may also get added to this one once ideas get flowing!

Angel Wings

For today's project I've decided to make a canvas using one of the Julie Nutting doll stamps.  I watched an online class last week and just loved the canvas that she made and was totally inspired.  Mine of course looks nothing like hers, but I made it my own.  lol

I love the Pinque Peacock covered buttons and the ones I used are my favorite.  I did ink them with Distress Ink, Tattered Rose, but I hated to do it because they're so pretty as is.

Most of the products that I used are from the Prima Romance Novel collection.  The bow is of course 3 Girl Jam crinkle ribbon, Sweet Cream.

I did have a lot of fun creating this, painting the canvas I had in my stash, tearing paper for the background, inking them all and then placing them on the canvas with Modge Podge.  I stamped the doll and wings on one of the tags that were made for these stamps and then dressing the doll up.  I used Cinnamon Stickles for the dots on the wings and on the 3 of the corners.

Here she is, my Angel Wings!

These are the beautiful Pinque Peacock fabric covered buttons that I inked.

And here is a close-up view of the bow using the 3 Girl Jam crinkle ribbon.  This Sweet Cream is so pretty!!

Thank you so much for coming by and checking out my latest creation!  Please become a follower if you are not already and I do love comments!!
