It's Friday and Springtime

Well Happy Friday!  Time is just flying by and it's spring already.  It's been a while since I've posted and I have been so excited.  Maybe too excited because I've lost my crafty mojo!  I've been setting spring related items on my table for weeks and rearranging them and adding to them and also taking stuff away just trying to get an idea on what to make.  Nope, nothing came to me at all. Been going through paper, embellishments, everything I've got and still nothing.  So I'm sitting there playing a game on my laptop and still thinking and I actually got an idea.  Not a great idea but at least a step in the right direction.  What about all those practice painting pieces I have!!  Years ago I was trying to teach myself to paint and I was using waxed paper to practice and saved all of them, good and bad.  Yes, I'm one of those!   I have been trying to get back into painting, but I am my own worst critic.  I usually end up throwing away or washing away everything I've done lately.  Sure hope my mojo comes back soon, I really miss it.

So I looked and found the folder and pulled out flowers and a humming birds.  I finally decided on the humming birds and put one of them in a plastic folder I made so it wouldn't chip and glued a piece of yellow cardstock to the back.  I set it on the table and kept walking away until I could figure out what to do next.  Never really came up with anything, but did keep adding to it.  It was going to be a card, but got too big to be a card.  Didn't really want to do a layout with it, so now I think I may just frame it and put it in my craft room.

Here are a few pictures I took and of course there is ribbon and bows, my trademark.  I also used the fabric covered buttons I got from Pinque Peacock.

This is a picture of the humming bird and I do take creative license with my colors!

These are the fabric covered buttons from Pinque Peacock.  The colors are more vibrant than everything is showing up for some reason.

And finally here is the whole 'layout'.

Thank you so much for stopping by and if you're not already please become a follower, I would appreciate it!

Have a great weekend!

It's Wednesday

It's Wednesday and time is just flying by.  I've been busy getting my craftroom into shape so that I can actually work in it, but it's going slow.  Lots going on and not going to get slower any time soon.  Have a couple of crafty projects due very soon and a blog hop coming up, so better get busier!  It's always fun cleaning my room, always find lots of treasures and always end up playing with something instead of working.  hehehe

On a more somber note, got the news this week that Sara is officially moving to Spokane at the end of March and she's taking Liam with her!  I finally get me a grand baby and now he's moving away.  I knew it was coming, but am devastated.  We're having a family going away party March 9th, but it won't be a celebration to me.  I'm just hoping I don't cry the whole time and embarrass myself.  Enough on that subject, too depressing!!

I'm trying to blog regularly, but am still not doing the best, but with all that's going on with the Pinque Peacock and Our Kreative Karma design teams I know that I will be posting a lot more!  So please stay tuned for the next post and hopefully I will WOW you!  lol  Have lots of awesome product from the Pinque Peacock and just need to clear off my work area so that I can 'create' some beautiful projects.  It's been killing me I haven't been able to play in my craftroom, but by the weekend it should be done enough to have some crafty fun!

So enjoy the rest of the week and wish me luck with my clean up!

Our little Liam turned 5 months old on the 24th and Sara took a few pictures and so I'm putting my a few of my favorite ones below.  Check out those chubby little arms (you should see his legs)!!  LOL

Happy Friday!

It's finally Friday and have lots going on this weekend.  I went to the doctor yesterday and all went well and I get to drive again!  I will be going to physical therapy for my leg, but it's still better than the doctor thought it would be.  So life is good and now I can start getting my craft back on.  My room is a mess though, I know, shocker.  I have been spending some time in there when I have had the energy, but now I can really work on it this weekend!

Now I am on 2 Design Teams and can start making projects!  Today is my turn to post on Our Kreative Karma blog, so go over and check it out.  Since I haven't been able to do anything I posted some Photoshop tags that I made.  I know it's not exactly a craft, but it is actually really fun to do.  I never got into digital scrapbooking, I want to make a mess and get my hands all dirty and sticky!!  I am a paper, glue and glitter crafter.

Head over to Our Kreative Karma blog and check out all the amazing projects from the DT and become a new follower!

What kind of grandmother would I be if I didn't post the latest picture of Liam!!  He is now 4 months old and he's a little cutie with pinchable cheeks.

So have a great weekend and I will be posting again very soon, my blog is no longer idle!!

Poor Idle Blog!

I have let my blog go idle, but the first of the year hopefully it won't be idle any longer with any luck.  Currently I'm waiting for a surgery date and hoping I'll have it tomorrow.  The girl that does the scheduling has been on vacation and is due back tomorrow.  I wanted the surgery before Christmas, but not sure they can squeeze me in a week.  Once I have a date there will be lots to do anyways, so I may need longer.  I do have a brain tumor, but it isn't cancer and is operable.  It's sitting on my motor skills strip, which is the reason for my leg and arm issues.  The doctors said that it could have been growing for more than 20 years or even since I was a kid.  I am hoping for the best and trying to stay positive.  Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I would appreciate it.  Once things are set-up I'll post the date.  My family will be updating Facebook with how I'm doing, probably Anthony, Sara and Triva, so look for there posts if you've interested.

So here's wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Of course I have to show off my grandson Liam, he's the apple of my eye!  He will be gone for the  holidays to Michigan with his parents.  I'm hoping when they get back I'll be able to hold him without supervision!  lol

Happy Veterans Day!

Welcome to the Veterans Day Blog Hop!  Veterans Day originated as "Armistice Day" on November 11, 1919, the 1st anniversary of the end of WWI.  Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11th became a national holiday beginning in 1938.  President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation in 1954 to change the name to Veterans Day as a way to honor those who served in all American wars.  The day honors military veterans with parades and speeches across the nation.  A national ceremony takes place at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.  American is the Land of the Free, because of it's brave.  Veterans Day celebrates and acknowledges the service o all United States Military Veterans.  Today we honor the brave men and women who have served in the American Military.  With great respect and a heart full of pride, we say a great big THANK YOU to those who have served and to those that are currently serving!

You should have started this Veterans Day blog hop at Melissa's Blog.  If you didn't, you may want to go back and start from the beginning, you don't want to miss any of the fabulous projects along the way!

So onto my project!  Today I made a scrapbook page, which I haven't done in what seems ages.  It  doesn't have a picture on it, but will be adding my dad's Army picture as soon as my mom finds it. My dad has been gone since 1994 and died much to young, he was just 51.  He is missed and he is still my hero!

For this layout, the paper is Pink Paislee and a sticker sheet, both from the Declaration Collection. The dog tag is Westrim Crafts.  The other stickers are both Paper House Stickers and K & Company.

These are a few of close up shots, the stickers are so pretty and glittery.  I don't usually use stickers, but really loved these!  For the frame I did use Tim Holtz distressing ink, Weathered Wood.  I love my ink!!

I put the glitter brackets on the journaling square to add a little pop!

I just love this flag, so pretty!

So that's it for my project and hope you enjoyed it and would love it if you would become a follower of my blog.  When I hit 50 followers I'll be having a giveaway!!!

So now onto the next stop on the hop.  Your next stop will the awesome Jenn Jackson, I'm sure you won't want to miss what she has in store for you!!

If you do happen to get lost along the way here is a complete lineup for the Veterans Day blog hop.

Crafty Saturday!

I've been MIA for weeks, but now onto new adventures.  I am no longer on the Cricut Design Team and am not going to go into the reasons.  I was the one that quit, I wasn't kicked off just in case you were wondering.  It just wasn't what I hoped it would be and it was more stress than fun. I don't want stress, I want fun and don't want it to feel like work.  I do have other opportunities that are coming together and am very excited about them.  I am getting into lots of blog hops and and will be posting my own projects until the first of the year.  After the first of the year I'll be announcing what me and the 'girls' have been up to.  The 'girls' are friends that I've made on Facebook that have the same interests as me and just want to have fun crafting.  I will hopefully be trying out for other Design Teams, but am going to wait until after the holidays are over and the dust settles.  The Design Team I was on left kind of a bad taste in my mouth so to speak, so want to make sure what I'm getting in to.

That's it for today and I do have a blog hop coming up on Monday the 12th for Veterans Day, so please stop back by and check it out!

I have no crafty picture to share, but get a picture a day of Liam from Sara and so I will post one of the latest ones.  They did come to visit yesterday, but not for any good reason, my hubby lost his brother a couple days ago and Sara wanted to be with her family.  He is in a better place now, but that doesn't make us any less sad.

Liam my sweet grandson!  I picked this picture because I love his little bathrobe.  He is plugged though, but still cute!  lol

Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll talk to you soon!
